Meet Gina Werner, Clinical Director and Nurse Injector at IVme
Gina Werner, R.N., is the Clinical Director and a Nurse Injector at IVme. Gina is responsible for the documentation and training of all procedures and protocols for IVme’s health, beauty and recovery treatments. Prior to being on the IVme launch team in 2012, Gina was an ER nurse at NorthShore University Hospital. In addition to mentoring new staff and overseeing day-to-day operations so that each IVme location is following our best-in-class protocols for a clean, safe and healthy environment for our patients, Gina holds weekly clinical hours to administer IVs, vitamin shots, and cosmetic injectables including BOTOX® and JUVÉDERM®. Gina’s patients describe her as caring, personable and energetic. She’s a “people magnet” and attracts patients of all ages and walks of life with the common goal of healthy living. Gina strives to have all her patients looking refreshed and feeling better about themselves after they visit IVme.
Gina grew up in New York before leaving for the University of North Carolina-Wilmington where she earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise. Gina returned to New York to continue her education at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing in Syracuse. In 2011, she made a pivotal decision to move to Chicago to be closer to family and took a position in the ER of NorthShore University Hospital. This is where she met Dr. Jack and Dr. Scott. The synergy of their friendship and medical skills made this trio the dream team to launch the first IV hydration center in Chicago in 2012. While it’s been one of Gina’s greatest challenges learning to grow and manage a business, it’s also been one of her most rewarding experiences. Gina loves her team and proudly boasts that you won’t meet a team of nurse injectors better skilled or more committed to your health goals than the team at IVme.
Gina’s extensive training as an ER nurse makes her adept at working across several medical disciplines and she is able to regularly face new challenges and to tackle new tasks. As IVme continues to expand locations and services, as Clinical Director, Gina is responsible for implementing and maintaining IVme’s systems, processes and protocols. Gina is also responsible for mentoring new nurses and ensuring that all IVme patients receive the highest level of professional and personal customer care.
Gina loves what she does at IVme because there is no typical day and there is no typical patient. She enjoys spending quality time with each of her patients and developing long-term relationships based on trust. Her ER training combined with her ability to make everyone immediately feel comfortable and welcome help her to understand her patient’s health and aesthetic challenges and then counsel them with a proactive, informed and realistic plan that is based on attainable goals. Her patients tend to be in their 30s & 40s and need a refresh or are dealing with facial volume loss. She is known for helping her patients age more gracefully. When it comes to cosmetic injectables, she is a visual communicator and she often marks her clients’ faces so that she can educate, dialogue about expectations and then agree on how IVme and the patient will work together to achieve the patient’s refreshed look. It’s very important to Gina that her cosmetic patients have “balanced” faces and that they aren’t overdoing it.
When Gina’s not taking care of patients or training staff, she enjoys time with her husband and sons. She loves being out on a boat for fun and sun, running and working out with a personal trainer. She regularly receives IVme hydration therapies, BOTOX and fillers and does bi-weekly vitamin shots.
Gina’s favorite IVme treatment
Gina swears by the Super Immune IV – the combination of hydration, which we all need, with immune system support and an energy boost to combat sinusitis and the common cold is brilliant. Treatment for sinusitis and colds is usually rest and drinking liquids. Rather than waiting to feel better and days or weeks to recover, she recommends the Super Immune IV – it’s a more efficient and expedient treatment and recovery method.
