Avoid late-round golf fatigue with IV Hydration at IVme

Experienced golfers know that hydration can improve your game both mentally and physically. If you want to turn that par into a birdie on the back nine, IV hydration might give you the edge you’re seeking. Throughout June 2021, IVme is offering golfers a special: buy one Athletic IV, get one free when you book an appointment for your twosome or foursome.

Various studies were published during the first half of this decade suggesting that Americans are chronically dehydrated. Appropriately, more attention is being given to consuming the recommended amount of water every day.

What is the recommended water intake per day? It is not a one-size-fits-all answer. The first consideration is your weight. The optimal water intake is to drink half your body weight (measured in pounds) in ounces each day. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, you would drink 100 ounces of water each day. In addition, you need to consider your activity level. On days of increased activity and perspiration, you will also want to increase your water intake beyond half your body weight in ounces. Finally, if you are consuming coffee, tea or other diuretics, you may need to increase your water intake to offset dehydration.

What is dehydration? Dehydration happens when your body doesn’t have as much water as it needs to function properly. Your body is made up of 75% water. Maintaining proper levels is important for all bodily functions, including those that can impact your golf score! Signs of mild to moderate dehydration according to the Mayo Clinic can include: headache, cramps, dry and cool skin, not peeing much, dark yellow pee, and thirst. Signs of severe dehydration can include: feeling dizzy, rapid heartbeat, rapid breathing, lack of energy, confusion, irritability, and fainting.

Staying hydrated isn’t difficult, but let’s admit it, sometimes life gets in the way of proper self care. If you find yourself approaching a day or weekend of golf, but haven’t kept up with your hydration for the week, it is important you take appropriate steps to prevent dehydration on the course, especially if you’re expecting warm temperatures. Consuming water the morning of, throughout the day, and after the round is an easy and obvious step in the right direction. Reducing caffeine and alcohol consumption is another great move. If that’s not enough to close the gap, some golfers have turned to IV hydration for rapid rehydration.

The Golfer’s Guide to IV Hydration. From spring through fall, IVme welcomes a steady stream of golfers coming in for the Athletic IV. This personalized IV includes fluids, electrolytes, Vitamin C, Vitamin B Complex, and Glutathione with the option to add anti-inflammatory medicine to help relieve aches and pain. A Super B intramuscular shot is also included to help sustain the treatment’s health benefits. Not only does the IV help with rapid hydration, it also supports endurance, cellular repair, pain relief, focus, fatigue, and muscle recovery.

The Athletic IV treatment takes about thirty to forty-five minutes and is best given the morning of your golf outing or the day before. It has also become a great recovery treatment to soothe muscle pain and restore hydration after a day on the course.
