My name is Gina Werner and I am the Clinical Director and one of the founders of IVme Wellness + Aesthetics. I grew up in upstate New York before leaving for the University of North Carolina-Wilmington where I earned my undergraduate degree and a spot on the diving team. I returned to New York to continue my education at St. Joseph’s in Syracuse and got my nursing degree. In 2011 I made a pivotal decision to move to Chicago to be closer to my brother and his family. Little did I know what was in store for me in Chicago!
I first met Dr. Scott Yilk and Dr. Jack Dybis – my friends and IVme business partners – working in the emergency room at Northshore University Hospitals — we clicked right away. When they shared with me their idea for an IV hydration center outside of the hospital, I immediately knew I wanted in. Our personalities and skills complemented each other and we worked really well together. I was also eager for a professional opportunity outside of the hospital where days and nights can be very long. (If you’re an ER nurse, you know what I mean!) We launched the first IVme center in 2012 and have opened two more in the last year. While it’s been one of my greatest challenges learning to grow and manage a business, it’s also been one of the most rewarding experiences. I love my team and I love helping people be proactive with their health.
What are my favorite IVme treatments? That’s tough to answer because there are so many that help me be my best. When we first opened I was single and new to Chicago; the Recovery IV helped me keep pace with a demanding work schedule while also exploring Chicago’s vibrant nightlife and enjoying long summer days on my brother’s boat! It was also a great “opener” when talking with bartenders, bouncers and new friends I met across the city.
Today I’m in a very different place. I still live in Chicago and am married to an amazing man with whom I have a son and two stepsons. As a working mom, I couldn’t keep this pace without the Super B shot which helps boost my energy and regulate my sleep and appetite. I also love the Super Immune IV which is my “go-to” IV when I feel a cold coming on because I don’t have days or weeks to recover from an illness. I also love the aesthetic line of treatments we offer – injectables, fillers, and microneedling; you won’t meet a team of nurse injectors better skilled or more committed to your goals than the team at IVme.
