Billions’ Wags Has An ‘IV Guy’

If you’re a fan of Showtime’s ‘Billions’, then you’ve likely heard Wags, or Mike Wagner played by David Costabile, mention his “IV guy.” He recently told Lara he’s able to “party all night and work the next day” because he’s got a guy who will give him an IV drip in the morning.

Though we at IVme recommend using IV treatments as a part of your regular health and wellness routine, Wags has certainly found a positive side effect from IV therapy—curing hangovers.

IV therapy—or hydration therapy—is like getting an oil change. Each treatment intravenously delivers fluids, medications, vitamins and other nutritional supplements directly into your bloodstream. You’re replacing the toxins in your body with fluids and nutrients you need. And, 100% of these nutrients are immediately absorbed in much larger quantities than you could ingest orally.

For example, with Vitamin C, you can only take approximately 5 grams by mouth because it can result in irritation to the stomach, causing abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. But, through an IV, up to 50-75 grams of vitamin C can be administered. And, when you get a liter of intravenous fluids, it’s like drinking 2.5 liters of water. Considering nearly 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated, IV therapy is a simple way to ensure you’re consuming enough liquids and operating at optimum health.

Like I mentioned, Wags brags about his ability to overindulge and still come to work each day, but we believe IV treatments provide so much more than that. With global trade, technology and volatile markets, Chicago traders work around the clock, without sleep and proper nutrition. It’s a very high-stress environment, but with “Billions” at stake, they need to be at the top of their game and make sound decisions. Traders from many of Chicago’s top prop shops are turning to IVme for their monthly “oil change.” When their schedules are tight, they bring IVme to their office, sometimes boardroom, and treat their team to the Wellness and Vitality IV + B12 injection.

IVme offers a variety of IV hydration treatments, though your solution is tailored to the needs you have at the time of your visit. To get an idea of the ailments IV therapy treats outside of hangovers, here’s a look at just a few of the various treatments we provide:

  • Cold/Flu: includes a high dose of vitamin C, boosts your energy and knocks out a cold before it takes hold
  • Athletic Performance: great for “filling up your tank” before you perform or ensuring a speedy recovery
  • Jetlag/Fatigue: a combination of fluids, vitamins and oxygen that will refresh any rundown traveler
  • Myers’ Cocktail: named after acclaimed MD John Myers, this treatment covers all bases and is a great option for people looking to regularly benefit from hydration therapy

The experience at IVme is like none other. Once your treatment is determined, your IV is administered by a medical professional and you’re sent to one of our beautiful relaxation rooms, equipped with TV, Wi-Fi and comfortable chaise lounge chairs. You can opt to have a private room, or if you’ve come with a few friends or a bridal party, we’ve got a “party room” that sits about 8 to 10 people. IVme can also come you; we have mobile service for large groups and events and have gone to hotels, homes, offices, movie sets, boats and golf courses.

Though we thank Wags for bringing IV therapy mainstream, we definitely want people to know there’s way more to IVs than curing hangovers. If you, too, want an “IV guy,” please come see us at IVme.
