VI Peel Skin Care Benefits

Fall is the most popular time to start addressing skin concerns created by all of the summer time fun in the sun. There are a lot of options to address sun damage. Chemical peels are one of the most effective and long standing treatments available to target unsightly sun damage while also addressing texture, fine lines and acne.

At IVme, we are so excited to announce the addition of the VI Peel chemical peel to our aesthetic menu. We are committed to bring our clients in Chicago and Milwaukee, only the best in medical skin care options.

What is the VI Peel?

Over the years there have been many chemical peels introduced to the medical skin care market. Most chemical peels contain one acid to address just one skin concern. The VI Peel is blended with 5 of the top acids on the market to synergistically address multiple skin concerns at once.

  • Retinoic Acid- Penetrates the skin to inhibit melanin production along with stimulating cell turnover.
  • Trichloroacetic Acid- Known as TCA, boosts collagen while exfoliating the skin targeting fine lines, wrinkles and skin laxity.
  • Salicylic Acid- Kills bacteria, suppresses oil production, cleanses pores and prevents inflammation.
  • Ascorbic Acid – Powerful antioxidant that prevents future damage, reverses free radicals that attack and break down the skin and assists with evening skin tone.
  • Phenol Acid- The secret weapon to all ViPeels with its numbing capability. Makes for a comfortable, pain free peel.

The proprietary blend of these acids together create a pain free, effective peel that continuously delivers beautiful results. Depending on which peel is selected, there are added ingredients to specialize the peel for hyper pigmentation, such as melasma, or active acne.

The VI Peel Process

Prior to the peel there is an in depth consultation where our skin care professionals will assess the skin and determine whether this is the best option. Once completed, the VI Peel process is quick and painless with results seen in approximately 5-7 days. Each person that receives a VI Peel will be sent home with a post peel kit that is included with the peel. This kit includes cleanser, post peel towelettes for enhanced results, a post peel protectant, a broad spectrum SPF, as well as detailed instructions for each day following the peel.

The application of the peel takes 15 minutes from the initial cleanse to check out. This is a self neutralizing peel. What this means is once the peel is applied it stays on the skin for four hours following application. When the peel neutralizes, the face can be washed with the provided cleanser followed by a post peel towelette. Makeup can be applied if needed following the first cleanse of the skin up to the point where the skin starts peeling.

Once the peeling process starts, it is recommended to refrain from makeup until the peel has stopped. Normal skin care can be resumed, in most cases, 7 days following the peel.

Who is a Candidate for VI Peel?

We offer two options for the VI Peel. The Precision Plus and the Purify Precision Plus. These peels are the best options for treating all skin types and ethnicities starting at age 18 to treat sun damage, melasma, acne and post acne marks. Depending on the severity of the damage, 2-3 peels may be needed to achieve desired results. Our trained skin care professionals will assist in determining which peel and how many will be needed. Products to be used following the peel vary depending on the individual’s skin. Proper home care is an intricate part of enhancing and maintaining results.
